Hi, I’m Kim and I’m a historical archaeologist, food historian and medieval re-enactor. To find out more about my academic career see my website www.kimberleyconnor.com.

I started this blog to document my adventures recreating historical food, in any time period up to the 1950s. Sometimes the recreations are very successful and the recipes become part of my regular repertoire (like Mock Crab for a quick weeknight dinner) and sometimes not so much. Either way, the experiential practice of making historical food and learning about their cultural context helps shed light on how people in the past lived their lives.
